Officer Like Qualities (OLQs) are those 15 qualities which is important and essential for being an Officer in Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy. Basically these are those qualities which Psychologist, GTO and IO are trying to find out in a candidate through mind, talking and work (mansa, vacha and Karma) throughout 5 days of SSB Interview.

The 15 Officer Like Qualities (OLQs)

  1. Effective Intelligence: It is the ability of an individual to solve problems at complex situations. You must show some practical intelligence while solving real life situations given to you.
  2. Reasoning Ability: Everything you do in your life must have a reason and logical significance. To check this quality questions based on PIQ are asked answer them intelligently.
  3. Organizing Ability: This ability is determined by your ability to use the scarce resources in systematic way so as to handle bad situations of your life effectively.
  4. Power of Expression: It is the ability of an individual to to put across with ideas with ease and clarity.
  5. Social Quotient: It is the ability of a person to adjust with another person. It is the skillful management of the feelings you are dealing with.
  6. Co-operation: This is the ability of an individual to participate willingly in harmony with others to so as to achieve group roles. For this you have to be a person who is well friendly, helpful, believes in the Policy of give & take and displays team efforts.
  7. Sense of Responsibility: Faithfully and firmly doing what one is expected, asked or ordered to do it. Strictly follow the rules and regulations.
  8. Initiative: It is the ability of an individual to take steps in a new/unfamiliar situations in the write direction and sustaining you also. To display this quality you must volunteer.[post_ads_2]
  9. Self Confidence: It is the faith one has on oneself. This ability is to meet stressful situations particularly those which are unfamiliar. To display this quality your body language should be strong and voice should be clear. Avoid using words like may, should, could, try, can etc.
  10. Speed of Decision: It is the ability of an individual to take workable decisions appropriately and quickly.
  11. Ability to Influence a Group: The abilities which enable an individual to have ideas to influence the group.
  12. Liveliness: You must be active and cheerful in whatever you do. Display a high energy level and always keep smiling face. Never crib or complain.
  13. Determination: It is the effort which which a candidate puts in to achieve the aim in spite of obstacles and setbacks.
  14. Courage: The ability to appreciate and take purposive risks willingly. Keeping calm and composed in even diverse situations.
  15. Stamina: The capacity to withstand continuous physical and mental stress.
